On Tuesday March 15, 2016 at the Kimberley Dynamiters game the Foundation held the awards presentation at centre ice. The following is the announcement that was read:
Since 2001, the Kimberley & District Community Foundation has provided grants to local charitable organizations and Sporting groups. Each spring, grants from the Winter Games Legacy Fund are presented to organizations involved in Sport. This year the total amount of grants being distributed is $4,444.95 and the recipients are:
- Kimberley Speed Skating Club for the purchase of Kevlar suits
- Kimberley Seahorse Swim Association for coaching
- Kimberley Alpine Team for timing equipment and barricades
- Spirit Rock Climbing Club for their after school programme
- Monday Night Volleyball for equipment
- Kimberley Nordic Racers for coach’s training
