Establishing the Theresa Cundiff Fund

Theresa Cundiff

Feb 23, 1949 – May 27, 2013

The Foundation and the community at large suffered a great loss in 2013, with the death of a long time director, Theresa Cundiff. Theresa is remembered as a wonderful elementary educator who worked for over 30 years in the Kimberley School District. Her warm and caring attitude endeared her to her students and parents alike.

As a Board member of the KDCF, she worked with enthusiasm and compassion as the Chair of the Granting Committee. She was committed to ensuring that community organizations received the funding required to be successful. Her passion for Kimberley and its residents was truly evident in all her interactions. She was an avid supporter of the arts and a keen participant in recreational activities.

In order to keep Theresa’s legacy alive, the KDCF is establishing an endowment fund in her name and is requesting the assistance of the community. It is our hope that appreciative parents of students that Theresa had taught, former students and colleagues will generously donate to this proposed fund to make it a reality. Funds donated will be invested and the interest from these funds will be awarded on a yearly basis in Theresa’s name in the areas of Arts and Culture, the Environment, and in Education.

If you would like to make a donation to the Theresa Cundiff Fund, an account has been set up at the Kimberley Credit Union. In addition, you can click on the Canada Helps link on this site or mail in a cheque and the form you will find with your City water and sewer bill.

The Foundation would like people to know that endowment funds can be established in the memory of any loved one. It is a wonderful way to develop a lasting legacy for a loved one in which grants will be given in areas that the person was passionate about.

A gift to the Foundation is a gift that keeps on giving.
